The Southdowns Bikes Cycling Club are holding their fist ever road race event on Saturday 28th August 2010. This is a major event on the Surrey Road Racing League calendar and will require asistance from club members who may be available on that day.
The race is being held on the roads around and through Parham Park, with the finish on closed roads, on the hill above the house and is part of the clubs commitment to the BC to allow racing to continue on the roads around Britain and thereby encourage drivers to give cyclist's a fairer chance on our roads.
To enable us to be able to stage this race, we will need volunteers to Marshall at all the corners on the course, in order that the traffic can be stopped to allow the riders past and ensure safe passage during the race.
Please could all club members spare 3 hours either in the morning between 9:00 and 11:00 or, in the afternoon between 13:00 and 16:00 to help with the running of this event.
Please contact me via email at timothy.p.bishop@btopenworld.com to confirm whether you can attend on the day?
